Food, Dietary Supplements, Pharmaceutical and Feed Testing
ISO/IEC 17025:2017 is an international standard recognized globally. This standard is required by the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) to ensure internal or external testing laboratories are ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited.
PJLA offers ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation to food, dietary supplement, pharmaceutical, and feed testing laboratories. This requires a full system assessment of the laboratory’s quality management system and technical requirements. PJLA utilizes recognized national and international accreditation criteria such as: The AOAC International Guidelines for Laboratories Performing Microbiological and Chemical Analyses of Food and Pharmaceutical and APAC TC 007 Guidelines for Food Testing Laboratories and The Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO)– Quality Assurance/Quality Control Guidelines For Feed Laboratories supplement to ISO/IEC 17025:2017 General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories including AAFCO Accreditation Requirements 2014 to ensure laboratories performance levels are within the market accepted limits.

Update: Cannabis legalization is spreading across the United States and Canada, there are many issues to take into consideration, such as federal standards for food safety in regards to cannabis products. The FDA has been able to send warning letters to food and drug manufacturers that have violated food safety procedures and controls in regards to preparation, packaging, or holding conditions of the cannabis products. However, since these products are still not legal under the federal law, regulations are not always applied. States are taking this issue into their own hands, by creating their own requirements that the cannabis industry must follow. Laboratory testing of edibles is crucial in order to preserve the health and safety of its consumers. PJLA encourages all labs to closely review their state requirements when they apply for accreditation, to ensure that they meet the needs of their customers as well as following their state’s guidelines.

What Our Clients Are Saying
My experience with PJLA has been nothing but stellar and we look forward to a long business relationship, keep up the great work!”
My experience with PJLA has been exceptional! Excellent communication, great knowledge base, prompt responses. I look forward to working with PJLA in the future.”
My experience with PJLA was outstanding! The staff is easy to work with and very professional.”
We have been accredited with PJLA for almost 9 years. With each yearly audit and assessment, opportunities are always identified in areas that we can improve our processes. With each iteration, we have become a better, stronger organization, founded on a solid, continually improving Quality Management System. Thanks!”
We have had an amazing experience with PJLA! The audit process has been an extreme value-added process for our laboratory.”
I just wanted to send a thank you note about how valuable the online webinars & the in-person training sessions were. The transition has been very smooth with the help of these webinars and training sessions. Thanks to the PJLA team for putting these together and keeping us abreast of the changes. We especially liked how the webinar were made focusing on one or two topics and not the entire standard. We could not have completed the transition process without the help of these. I have been recommending to go through the recorded ones available on your website to our UK & Singapore team members to go over these.”
I believe strongly in the importance of testing for the cannabis industry and the importance for ISO 17025 accreditation. Working with Perry Johnson has been an excellent experience, as they held us to the Standard and guided us to becoming a better organization. Their continued support has been invaluable to our business and have given us credibility in an uncertain market.”
We want to thank you for the assessment that took place in our laboratory. The assessment was conducted by Mr. Berg that demonstrated and showed the highest level of professional expertise, extensive knowledge of standards and procedures. We believe that PJLA has to be proud that Mr. Berg represents PJLA all over the world. We are pleased that we chose PJLA as the accreditation body for ISO 17025:2005.”
Maurice and Doug were the complete professionals. They questioned, prodded, pushed, pulled, re-questioned, and prodded again. At the end of the day after 11 hours of work, I felt we had been very thoroughly examined and evaluated. Their attention to detail and meticulousness were a credit to your company. I know how to differentiate a thorough, complete, audit from a “drive-by.” These guys were thorough!”
Let me begin by saying I never imagined writing this type of letter concerning an assessment of our business or the auditor performing the assessment. I want to commend PJLA on the professionalism demonstrated throughout the assessment process. We were able to talk directly with those who could provide us with “concrete” pricing and those who had the technical expertise with the services we provide. Henry and Brett were willing to spend time speaking with us directly answering questions concerning the 17025 requirements and helping us better develop our quality systems to meet those requirements. In comparing them to contacts we met in other assessment companies, they went the “extra mile” in seeing our questions and needs were met.
Bryan, the auditor assigned to perform our assessment, was simply fantastic! Bryan was very professional in his approach and his evaluation. He was able to review the requirements, discuss with me in detail our quality program and then make recommendations on how we could better meet specific requirements making our business techniques and processes stronger.
We thank you for your professionalism and the commitment to excellence everyone in your company exhibited all through the assessment process. We very much look forward to working with you in the future.”
