ISO/IEC 17043:2010 –
Proficiency Testing Provider
Proficiency Testing Provider (PTP) Accreditation is conducted through the utilization and implementation of ISO/IEC 17043:2010 Conformity Assessment — General requirements for proficiency testing. ISO/IEC 17043 requires Proficiency Testing Providers to maintain a quality management system and demonstrate competency to provide proficiency testing schemes.
Accredited proficiency testing providers are assessed to ensure that they have: a quality management system in place, competent personnel and resources to produce reference materials or artifacts that are appropriate for the tests or calibration in the scheme. Proficiency Testing Providers are also assessed on how they plan, develop, analyze and report sound, meaningful schemes.
